As the office manager of a small hand surgery practice in Dallas, I always seem to be juggling my to-do list and proactively motivating my team to strive for the best. The last thing I need to worry about is the efficiency, dependability or functionality of our EMR system. With SimplifyMD, I can focus on what is truly important to this practice-our patients and staff.

I have worked on various EMR systems over the years and have found SimplifyMD Version 12.3 to be unmatched in ease of use, functionality, customer service and, most of all, cost. Everyone knows that the chart-chasing, paper-pushing madness goes out the door with EMR, but they typically don’t anticipate the over-complexity of some of the “EMR on steroids” products on the market, either. With SimplifyMD, you can rest assured that, between the truly simple layout and knowledgeable IT staff, the training time will be minute, questions will be answered and the staff will be utilizing this EMR to its full potential within the first day. Yes, it truly is that user-friendly.

Our faxing process is simplified with the ability to fax outgoing documents straight from the chart and our incoming documents import directly to an electronic filing center to be filed into the appropriate patient chart. Each employee/provider has their own message center within and can send/receive messages and patient documents to one another to improve efficiency and insure accountability. If we need to send an electronic prescription to the pharmacy for a patient, it’s no problem. SimplifyMD has a built-in eRX component available, which makes sending scripts from the patient chart quick and easy; and, it automatically updates the patient’s medication list for future reference, too! Tired of hand-writing medications, medical histories, drug allergies and such on your patient documents? With SimplifyMD’s vast template management tool, you can easily have just about any patient information of your choosing pre-populated and ready to go when you are.

Lastly, this EMR is not only highly cost-efficient, but has actually earned our practice money! We were able to attest to Stage 1-Meaningful Use through CMS (thanks to the one-on-one attention from our account manager, Dennis Breslin) and expect to see our first payment sometime this spring! I cannot express how pleased we are with SimplifyMD and the many ways it has improved our overall workflow and accuracy and has allowed us to place our focus on our patients-as it should always be.

My main concern in going to a new EMR system was the ease of the system and the ease of the transition into a new system, and of course customer service for those problems that seem to arrive at the most inopportune times.

The training was exceptional and hands on, most importantly customer service was readily available once we made the transition. Simplify MD is very user friendly; It gave us an opportunity to design our charts the way we wanted them without the hassle of junk cluttering the chart with unnecessary tabs, labels, etc.

I have nothing but good things to say about Simplify MD, that includes everyone from the bottom all the way to the top! A few things I particular like: The scheduling forms, for surgery, tests, etc. I am particular fond of the patient’s demographics carrying over to the forms. My doctor fills in the necessary information for a test, saves it, I add my part and shoot it off either by fax or email. The assembly of records is amazing, click and send. Scanning patient documents with bar codes is both time saving and ideal way of filing for a busy office with limited staff. The messaging system to the patients charts and in house is a great and easy way to relay messages and communicate between the doctor and staff. I would highly recommend Simplify MD. An overall excellent transition, great customer service and a company that stands behind their product!

We are an internal medicine practice, and our physician had been searching for an EHR for several years before he reviewed SimplifyMD. He was specifically looking for a system that would adapt to his templates, and was tablet based to allow him to continue to sit in front of his patients, face-to-face, and talk with them while handwriting his notes. SimplifyMD met these criteria and more.

We were able to create templates based on the forms our physician currently used, with the added benefit of the encounter saving directly into the chart. In addition, the incoming faxes deposited directly into the digital drop box - no more searching for paper faxes! The transition was very easy, and the workflow remained the same or improved depending on the process. SimplifyMD is accessible from locations outside of the office, which has been very useful. In addition, our patients have the option to view portions of their medical records online through their own password protected site. Our patients enjoy this access to their records which are continually updated as tests, labs, procedures occur.

SimplifyMD has grown with us through the years. We easily modify templates, or create new forms as we need them. The customer support through SimplifyMD is excellent - they always go above and beyond to assist us in our needs.

We have 4 doctors and they are all very busy. We also have a surgical center on one side and we do anywhere from 10 to 30 procedures a day. We started looking for EHR because of the implementation requirements. We listened to several people and looked at other EHR but was impressed with the amount of information that Simplify holds to a patients chart. It has all kinds of tabs that you just click on and the information is there. We also love that when a patient has surgery or a Colonoscopy, the procedure report is dropped to the chart right away when the doctor dictates. This is useful for doctors that are needing to schedule the patient for other procedures.

We could not have attested without the help of Simplify. They held our hand through the process and still hold our hand today. If you get nervous or have a question you are given emails and numbers that you can call and someone always responds quckly. They get us out of more trouble and sometimes it is our fault not theirs, but they are always willing to help. I guess that is my favorite thing about Simplify is the people.
When we first went on Simplify, it was different because most of us do not like change. Once we went live, it was very easy. Of course we had to adjust a few things and different people had different jobs, but once we got past the first few days and worked out our bugs, it was smooth sailing.

SimplifyMD was fairly easy to implement and the program is user friendly. We have been with them since changing over from paper charts to an EMR. It can be enhanced to suit your office needs. They have recently upgraded to a cloud server which offers many advantages. They do have an integrated program with Rcopia for electronic prescribing and are working with lab services to provide integration with the program as well. The program will also integrate with some practice management systems, however we did not take advantage of this service. They are continually updating the program to meet the needs of physicians. The program is suitable for solo practice and also works very well in a group setting. For those of you still working towards Meaninful Use, we successfully attested with SimplifyMD!

The initial cost was very high compared to others. We went with SimplifyMD because it was recommended to the doctor by a colleague.

We are pleased with SimplifyMD. You should definitely consider them when making a decision.
